What’s coming up in May!

We’re currently hard at work on Stories of Solidarity—our new walking tour of Harlem highlighting stories of connection between South Asian and Black communities in the fight for racial justice. While we wait for the launch of our new tour, we invite you to come to our Revolution Remix walking tour that started it all. Come hear stories of early South Asian Americans that will change the way you see Philadelphia. We have just one tour date this spring! We’d love for you to join us!

Revolution Remix will change the way you understand Philadelphia and its history. Starting at the Liberty Bell and ending at Race Street Pier on the banks of the Delaware River, our walking tour shares stories of South Asians in Philadelphia from the 1780s to the present day.

Stories of Solidarity will launch in the fall with special tour dates just for SAADA supporters, so please stay tuned!

Join our summer volunteer cohort to help us record and transcribe stories for SAADA’s First Days Project—and help us preserve the experiences of immigrants and refugees in the United States!

Last summer, we partnered with 40 dedicated Community Historians from across the country. Our volunteers collected and transcribed over 60 stories, spanning six decades. With their help, the First Days Project is now home to 807 stories to date!

This summer, you can help us ensure that diverse American stories are preserved and shared!

Last month we hosted two events to test our new storytelling board game—our Board Game Extravaganza in Brooklyn with multigenerational families and our Board Game Friendxtravaganza at SAADA HQ with friends and family of SAADA staff members.

Our game will launch in the fall, but keep an eye out before then for more information and ways to get involved!
